Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had got a root canal done on my teeth. I had seven sittings to complete it. I am still having a dull pain. Sometimes I take mild pain killers. I took antibiotics for three days for this, but still, full pain is there. What can I do?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

1. First of all, I would like to know which tooth are you talking about? I would also like to see the X-ray if you have it with you.

2. I am sorry as it took long for your root canal procedure, did your dentist tell about any specific complication with your tooth?.

3. There is still complaining of pain means there is infection remaining or obturation or the capsize did not go well with your tooth.

4. As you are still facing pain, I suggest you go for three-day medication and then follow-up with me after three days.

5. Do warm water, and salt rinses five to six times daily, water should be warm and not hot.

6. Maintain good oral hygiene.

7. Brush in a circular pattern and give soft finger massage to teeth while cleansing.

8. Amoxicillin clavulanate 625 mg twice daily, Paracetamol 500 mg twice daily. Follow this medication for three days and then update me. I hope it helps.

Preventive measures

Avoid sticky food and food lodgement.

Regarding follow up

Follow up after three days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
