Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 24 years old and unmarried. I have tried having sex with my girlfriend, but I am not satisfied. I am unable to maintain an erection for even one minute; my ejaculation occurs within 30 seconds. I am really scared about this problem. Please, how can I improve my sexual performance?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

However, you have not mentioned education or profession, which are very important factors for me. As premature ejaculation often depends on our mental state, if we are prone to anxiety, such problems can occur. Therefore, it is often secondary to anxiety features.

Initially, you should focus on controlling your anxiety symptoms through relaxation techniques and breathing exercises. Secondly, you should consider attempting sex a second time, as often the first ejaculation occurs more quickly, with subsequent attempts lasting longer. Additionally, the female-on-top position typically prolongs ejaculation time, so you can try that. You can also start practicing exercises for premature ejaculation, such as the 'start-stop technique.' This involves stopping your urination for three to four seconds immediately after starting, then resuming and repeating this process four to five times whenever you urinate. This technique often leads to improvement.

Sex involves both partners, so it is important for both of you to be involved in the therapy. Ask your girlfriend to help divert your attention whenever you feel close to climaxing; this can also help prolong the duration. Remember that most of the time, the first ejaculation occurs early, with subsequent ones lasting longer.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

Thank you.
