Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 21 years old, and since I had COVID-19 infection three months back, I have had problems getting a firm erection and have lost penis sensitivity. I eat healthy food, am in good physical shape, and do sports regularly, which came to me as a shock, this problem has persisted for two and a half months now, and I have no clue about the solution. It has been two months since I had a COVID-19 infection, and ever since, my erections have not been firm, and I have lost sensation in my penis. I have checked my testosterone and PSA level, and the results are testosterone total: 692, free testosterone: 24.44, and PSA: 0.54. How do I cure this? Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

This erectile dysfunction can be self-limiting with time recovery after COVID infection for some organs can take some time like a few more months. In case of no recovery, I suggest taking an ultrasound doppler of the penis, but I do not suggest it. Give time for complete recovery, which can take up to six to nine months. After this period, I am sure you will be back to normal erection with no medications. Follow up and update me about your condition so we can go further in investigations and treatment if required. If you have any more queries, please let me know.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for your reply. Another question I have is that sometimes, my erections get slightly better for a few days, but after a few days, they go back to being worse, and that varies, and I am not sure if it can be related to what I eat or something like that. Lastly, why has my penile sensitivity gone? For example, if I touch my penis with my finger or other objects, I cannot feel anything. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

In the recovery stage, you expect up and down in the symptoms. Other things like food and good physical exercise, of course, affect erection markedly. Regarding sensitivity, it might be because COVID can affect nerves, so I suggest you can take a three months course of tablet Neurobion once daily.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
