Patient's Query

Hello,

I am a 35-year-old woman who had COVID-19 about two years ago. Since then, unfortunately, I am still experiencing fatigue and joint aches. Could you please advise on what can be done to address these issues? I also have diabetes and high blood pressure. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for your query. It appears that you are possibly suffering from long COVID symptoms. Certain people who have been infected previously with COVID-19 can experience long-term effects from their infection, post-COVID conditions (PCC). This happens more frequently in patients who had severe COVID-19, more than one episode of repeated reinfections, people unvaccinated earlier, and more. There is no diagnostic test to prove that symptoms or conditions are due to COVID-19. Long COVID is not one illness. There can be a wide range of symptoms that can last weeks to months) or persistent post-Covid syndrome, multiorgan effects of COVID-19 include cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, neuropsychiatric organ systems, and joints although the duration of these multiorgan system effects is unclear. There is no specific treatment but it is based on the symptoms that you may be having unless repeat COVID-19 tests come out to be positive.

Please let me know the tests and medications already taken so that we can discuss them further regarding management

Thanks

Regards.

The Probable causes

It could be Covid19.

Investigations to be done

1 I would suggest you get blood- Hb (hemoglobin), CBC (complete blood count), ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), CRP (C-reactive protein), hs-CRP (high-sensitivity C-reactive protein), renal function, and liver function tests. 2. Radiology- X-ray chest. 3. COVID-19- RT-PCR (reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) of nasal and naso or oropharyngeal swabs. 4. ECG (electrocardiogram)-12-Lead.

Probable diagnosis

Long COVID.

Treatment plan

Based on results of diagnostic tests.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
