Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I would like some advice. I have had an ECG and 24-hour ECG, which I was told was normal. I went to my GP for a fast heartbeat and palpitations. My blood pressure was 136/88 mmHg. She had to take it twice. Then she checked my heart, which she said was relatively fast, and she could feel it. So she has put me on Bisoprolol 1.25 mg. I have been on it for two weeks and I have not been told what to look out for. What is the best way to keep an eye on my blood pressure and pulse? I have a stethoscope, but I am not sure if that helps.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Regarding your symptoms, you have sinus tachycardia due to anxiety, panic attacks, or infection. Any history of smoking, alcohol intake, or illicit drug intake? Please do a TTE (transthoracic echocardiogram) and chest X-ray and reply with the result. You can continue with your Propranolol medication. I believe every GP does monitor all vital signs. To do self-monitoring, get a smartwatch that has vital signs. I hope this helps schedule another appointment for follow-up via chat, phone, or video consultation.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
