Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I get a penile erection during initial foreplay, but after some time, the penis becomes loose, and the penis does not hold an erection for long enough to complete the foreplay and move forward to penetration. The penis becomes flaccid just before penetration, and there is a sudden loss in the libido. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

It seems you may be suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED).

Causes for Erectile Dysfunction (ED) include:

1. Stress due to work or family-related issues.

2. Depression.

3. Varicocele.

4. Fear of failure.

5. Low self-esteem.

6. Chronic masturbation.

7. Homosexuality.

8. Religious constraints.

9. Smoking and alcohol.

10. Long-term illnesses like cardiac disease, thyroid disease, kidney disease, or any other disease with long-term medications.

11. Vitamin deficiency.

12. Negative attitude towards your partner.

13. Hormonal issues such as thyroid issues, low testosterone, and increased prolactin levels.

14. Long-term drug usage.

15. Diabetes and hypertension.

I suggest you get an ultrasound of the penis, pelvis, and scrotum. Do the complete blood count (CBC), and check the thyroid hormone levels and blood sugar levels. I also suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below,

1. You need to plan for regular exercise.

2. Follow a healthy and nutritious diet.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
