Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have painful active acne on my jaw area, my skin is oily, and I have a lot of acne under the skin. I am really confused. I also used benzoyl peroxide and azelaic acid, but it did not work. Please help me.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Acne can be complex due to various factors like genetics and lifestyle habits like diet, stress, etc.

  1. Salicylic Acid or Beta-hydroxy Acids (BHAS): these ingredients can effectively target acne under the skin (also known as cystic acne) due to their oil solubility, which allows them to penetrate deeper into pores than water-soluble ingredients like benzoyl peroxide. Look for products containing these ingredients, or ask your dermatologist for recommendations.

  2. Retinoids: these vitamin A derivatives can help unclog pores, reduce inflammation, and promote cell turnover, which can lead to a reduction in acne. They may also help with oil production. antibiotics: In severe cases, antibiotics may be prescribed to help combat acne-causing bacteria.

  3. Lifestyle Changes: consider making lifestyle changes like reducing sugar intake, managing stress, and avoiding touching your face, as these can all contribute to acne. Remember, consistency is key when it comes to treating acne, so be patient and stick with your treatment plan.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
