Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 30-year-old female who is not a smoker or drinker, has no known medical conditions, and is not currently taking any medication. Why does my anus look like this? It does not hurt at all, and there does not appear to be blood when I pass stool. My anus does not ache or itch, but I am concerned about its appearance.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Based on the information you have provided, there are a few possible explanations for the appearance of your anus:

  1. Anal skin tags: These are small, benign growths that can develop around the anus. They are usually harmless and do not cause symptoms, but they can be cosmetically bothersome. Skin tags are more common in people who are overweight or have diabetes, but they can occur in anyone.

  2. Hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the rectum or anus that can cause discomfort, itching, or bleeding during bowel movements. However, based on your description, it does not sound like you are experiencing any of these symptoms. Hemorrhoids can also cause skin tags to form around the anus.

  3. Anal fissure: This is a small tear in the lining of the anus that can cause pain and bleeding during bowel movements. However, based on your description, it does not sound like you are experiencing any of these symptoms.

  4. Chronic constipation: If you have chronic constipation, you may be straining during bowel movements, which can lead to the development of skin tags around the anus. Constipation can also cause hemorrhoids and anal fissures.

Without a physical examination or further medical history, it is difficult to determine the exact cause of your anus' appearance. I would recommend making an appointment with your primary care physician or a gastroenterologist for further evaluation and treatment. They can perform a physical exam and run some tests to determine the underlying cause and provide appropriate treatment options.

I hope this information will help you.

    Thank you.
