What is the best course of action for severe dyshidrotic eczema flare-ups?
Hello doctor,
My brother has been diagnosed with dyshidrotic eczema. He experienced a severe flare-up five years ago, and he is currently experiencing another significant flare-up. He is exhibiting symptoms on both hands, and some itchy rash has also appeared on his knees. Interestingly, the rash on his left knee appeared after he had a fall last Sunday, while he already had a slight rash on his hands at that time. Initially, the doctor suspected a bacterial infection on his left knee and prescribed antibiotics. However, after two doses of antibiotics, his hand eczema worsened dramatically overnight, with swelling and blisters appearing all over. When he visited the doctor the next morning, the doctor only recommended a low-dose steroid ointment. However, he is still struggling with his condition. All his blood tests, including CRP, came back normal.
