Chronic kidney disease or CKD or chronic kidney failure is when the kidney gradually loses its function. The primary function of kidneys is to excrete waste and excess fluids from the body. But in advanced stages of CKD, the kidney function is impaired, and fluids and waste build up in the body, which can be dangerous. Some of the symptoms include nausea, vomiting, muscle twitches, sleep disturbances, severe itching, dyspnea, and hypertension. Conditions that can cause CKD are diabetes, hypertension, glomerulonephritis, kidney infection, polycystic kidney disease, etc.
